FOUNDER
Dr. Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan
Dr. Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan is the visionary architect of modern Hamdard in Bangladesh. Inheriting a struggling institution in 1982, he transformed it into a prominent entity through unwavering determination and a commitment to the founding waqf principles of service to humanity. His lifelong endeavor has been to champion Eastern medicine, successfully securing its official recognition in Bangladesh and establishing it as a vital bridge between traditional and modern healthcare.
Under his leadership, Hamdard Foundation Bangladesh has flourished, embodying its philanthropic mission through nationwide medical centers offering free consultation and medicine for the indigent. His ultimate vision is the creation of Hamdard Biggan Nagar—a dedicated City of Science, Education & Culture—which already houses Hamdard University Bangladesh and other institutions, ensuring the legacy of service, education, and healthcare continues for future generations.

About Hamdard Foundation Bangladesh
Established in 1989 by Dr. Hakim Mohammad Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, in consultation with Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and the Board of Trustees of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh, the Hamdard Foundation Bangladesh was founded to extend the vision of serving humanity through health, education, and compassion.
Driven by the earnings of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh, the Foundation works as a non-profitable, non-political, and non-communal organization committed to promoting human welfare, preserving traditional medicine, and uplifting communities through educational and philanthropic initiatives.
